Don't Get Ripped Off On Golf Vacations

Whether it’s a quick weekend getaway or a 10 day golf adventure to the Caribbean, there is one thing in common with all golf trips and vacations… rip-offs are common.

Here are a few things to be careful of when booking your next golf trip.

1. As Well Cart Fees.

Many courses will require you to rent a cart, even though your package deal never mentioned it. Make sure you know up front if cart fees are include and or required.

2. Course Surcharges

You may be offered to “upgrade” to a better course when you arrive at your destination. This is a common practice in many areas. The fact is that the course you “upgrade” to in many cases will not be any better than the courses you are booked on.

3. Internet Deals

Many golf trips these days are sold by internet resellers. The price may be right, but they have no idea of local market. They are selling a commodity and could care less what other events are happening in the area or what local conditions are. Dealing with local people in the area you plan to visit will eliminate many of these surprise.

4. Does you need a “packages” deal?

You will find that package deals sometimes will cost you more than just booking a hotel and a “golf” market and winging it. Once you book your accommodations, the concierge or front desk will be able to direct you to best deals. This works during the off peak times especially. So many people get involved in package deals that the prices can be increased by 50-75% over what it would cost you to book it yourself.

To save a ton of money, call the local area Better Business Bureau (all the offices are online at bbb.com) and ask for information on the local public courses. In addition just Google “Golf In …), you will come up with a ton of option.

Do you know that Golf is invented in Scotland?

Golf was invented in Scotland, and dates back to at least the 17th century, possibly even earlier – the name is believed to come from an Old German word, ‘gowf’, meaning a club or bat. The oldest golf course in the world is Musselburgh Links, but there are many vary old golf courses in Scotland, most famously St. Andrews. The early golfers decided to play the course through twice each time, but it is believed that the reason golf courses today have 18 holes is that St. Andrews only had room for nine .

Golf’s Scottish origin is a matter of some controversy among the Dutch, the Chinese and the French, who all claim that they had much similar club-and-ball games much longer ago. While there is no doubting they did, however, it seems clear that there is more to golf than just the club and the ball, and that golf as it is played today was at least perfected, if not entirely invented out of thin air, in Scotland.

Since then, little has really changed about the game. The grass has got shorter & smoother, as lawnmower technology has improved, the wooden clubs have been replaced with metal ones, and the balls have been improved by the addition of rubber, but that’s about it.

It wasn’t until the 20th century, however, that golf really started to spread all over the world. There were no golf courses in China until 1985, now there are more than 200. Since the Second World War, golf has become insanely popular in Japan, even though they don’t really have the space to build the courses – they have become pioneers of indoor and virtual golf. Today, it is thought that there are over 30,000 golf courses in the world – that’s well over a hundred for every country, although some countries obviously have far more courses than others, particularly in the English-speaking world.

9 Tips for playing well under pressure

Get Every Putt to the Hole

Because the player decelerates on the through-stroke, it makes most putts come up short . Minimize Your Swing Thoughts

Preshot: Visualize what you want the ball to do.

Address: Align the clubface where you want the ball to go.

Swing thought: Freely swing the clubhead.

Survive The First-tee Jitters

Nervousness makes you speed up your tempo, which affects consistency and accuracy. Like you want to hit it only 100 yards,  swing your driver smoothly .

Make More Tough Short Putts

Set your putterface square to the desired line, then square your feet and shoulders to that line. Not at the ball but make a smooth stroke while looking at the target .

Take More Club on Par 3s

Most come up short  that is few amateurs hit the ball over or through the green on par 3s . If you hit it flush, you're on; You still might make it to the putting surface, if you hit it less than solidly .

Score Lower on Par 5s

Make the last shot your favorite yardage into the green. Divide the difference by two when subtract that yardage . You're hitting lofted clubs that are easier to hit and more accurate and use this strategy .

Good greenside bunker players accelerate the clubhead through the shot, letting the sand "splash" the ball out. Set up with the face of your sand wedge slightly open, the ball slightly forward in your stance. Finish your swing like you're hitting a full 5-iron by hit the sand behind the ball .

Chip with Your Putting Stroke

Take a lofted club like a 7-, 8- or 9-iron and grip it like your putter  to avoid chunking or skulling your chip shots. For a slightly descending blow, lean the shaft and your body toward the target . Allowing the loft of the club to carry the ball over the unpredictable turf onto the green, make your putting stroke .

Get Your Irons Airborne

Most topped shots occur when you try to help the ball into the air with a scooping motion.

Is Your Golf Swing OK

For some, golf is one of those games that may shorten your lifespan. But for others, it is a grand game where patience and a good hip go a long way. While it may seem simple enough as all you need to do is to hit a metallic ball really hard to hurl it towards a hole at the other side, countless people have trounced in frustration because of it. Luckily, it doesn't have to always be so bad.

Keep it simple, keep practicing

The keyword in golf is consistency. If you can't hit the ball the same way each and every single time, then you will definitely have bad scores. Such problems like short distance, slicing, hooks, and many other golfing maladies are caused by lack of consistency. Therefore, you are to achieve consistency by improving your form. The only way for your body to do the same thing in the same way is to train it, and train it well. Practice.

Learning how to swing your club properly should be simple enough as long as you practice. A good way to think about it is to use your spine as an axis and keep your grip on the club properly. Such techniques are used by professional golfers all around the world. While differences can be quite subtle, there are many different types of golf swings. The similarity is that they all adhere to this principle. If you learn how to apply these principles to your swing, then you shall have no problem in driving longer distances without slicing and having 90% of strokes landing on the fairway.

Economy of movement

The best thing to do with your golf swing is to reduce unnecessary movements. Think of it as energy conservation, since all of your energy is supposed to be focused on hitting the ball and not wasted on awkward movements that cause slicing and other problems in the first place. Get back to the basics and incorporate only the movements needed to hit the ball dead center. This should lower your handicap by 7-12 strokes in no time. With more practice, you will hit par or better every time. However, that is only if you do practice.

Get lessons

To learn more about how to improve golf swing, the most obvious thing is to receive instruction in an actual golf class. These classes would have equipment and instructors that can help you achieve perfection as long as you have the determination, discipline, and money to do it. Enrolling in such classes does require a fee, so you do need to be earning quite a bit before you can actually think of getting into it. However, you can become skilled at a bundle if you make.

Read up

Others would try to find information over the internet. This is quite convenient, but the information gathered can be quite conflicting. As there are many different ways to hit a golf ball, experts are divided in what is the best way to improve your golf swing. Your job in this is to find out what is best for you. Every golfer has a different body, so not everyone can adhere to the same swing.

By being able to adjust to your configuration, you can improve without having to break a back or hip to do it.

Good luck putting this information to good use. In reading through this article I hope you have gained a better knowledge about this subject.

Aspects of Golf Course Maintenance

Golf courses are always in a state of constant change and evolution since they are growing! As the trees, grass and other shrubs grow, they interfere with the width of the putting surface of the golf course. In order to reduce the wastage of the surface, these elements forming the major part of the course need to be maintained in a proper and orderly fashion thus increasing the efficiency of the course itself.

Plenty of the ecological as well as community benefits must be provided by well-maintained golf courses. Fertilizers and pesticides should be used but in moderation over the entire golf course to maintain a healthy turf.

Trees are also an important and vital part of any golf course. The overgrown limbs of trees have to be trimmed as part of tree maintenance program. Softer slopes compared to steep slopes are most cost effective and have less maintenance . Trim work is the most difficult and crucial part of golf course maintenance. Sand Bunkers required sand to be added and replaced constantly as well as raking. If the sand bunkers are steep, after heavy rain, the sand will always need to be shoveled back into the bunkers.

Maintain the golf carts, which are generally petrol or electric, is also very important. If you are using electric carts, the batter terminals and water levels should be checked every fortnight . The damage to the green in the golf course can be reduced to a large extent by using Soft spike golf shoes instead of the metal spike shoes.

The irrigation system of any golf course also needs proper care in order to work to its full potential. It will reduce the overall water wastage and improve the appearance and quality of the greens in a big way, if this system is maintained efficiently . You can keep your golf course looking beautiful and well manicured thus ensuring a quality experience for the players, by following a few simple steps .

These is the Rotor Maintenance- Worn out seals and nozzles should be replaced immediately, the arcs of the rotors should be regularly adjusted. Anticipate change in weather and increase or decrease accordingly water usage. This will help prevent dry spots on the same time lessen the risk of over-watering the golf course.

The Ultimate in a Golfing Club Set

Golf has been a loved game since its creation.  What started off as a hobby has turned into a sport now seen all over the world and advertised on channels like ESPN.  Watching as the golfing club swings easily at that white tiny ball has made us fall in love with this game.

A great golf club set can be the difference between a good game and a poor game.  The golf club set you use has to be designed to suit the way you play the game as well as to your body type.  No particular set of golfing clubs is going to be perfect for everyone.

You can buy a golf club set from just about anywhere.  The price of the set will range sometimes anywhere from $170 and can go as high as a couple of thousand dollars.  Golfing has been a game which has been loved for years and has grown in appreciation.  In the earlier days, you didn't see very many shops selling golfing items.

Now, there is a golf store in pretty much every town.  A good way to narrow down a good golf club set is to check out the golf club reviews.  These reviews will take individual clubs as well as the entire golf club set and let you know what people who have tested them thought about the club.  Was it ideal for long fairway shots?  Was the putter ideal for helping you get that hole in one? Acuity golf clubs are a couple of name brands that are quite popular these days along with Knight golf clubs.

If you are going to invest a large amount of money into a group of clubs then you need to ensure it is a set that's going to be worth what you paid for it.  A good golf club set can get extraordinarily costly but it is an investment in your love for the sport.

Nowadays, you can get golf clubs either in a shop or on the Internet.  Naturally, if you make a purchase online you will not be in a position to test the product first.  In this example it is very important to make sure that you have formerly tested the same big name brand and style of clubs before you buy them.

You don't want to get the set and then realize it wasn't what you wanted or doesn't work for the way you play the game.  Just as a bow hunter has to have a bow that is intended to suit them, so does a golfer have to have a set of golfing clubs that it designed for them.

Golf if a favored sport and it is growing day by day not only in fans but in players too.  Shops of golf club sets are also growing.  Every child dreams to grow up and be the next Tiger Woods.  Every man wants to be the next Arnold Palmer.  Each girl wants to be the next LPGA champ.

The only real way to become that is to practice, practice, practice and to have a golf club set that is made for you and for your desire of this game.  Take your time and select smartly.

Golf is a game that's relaxing and fun after you get the hang of it.  First make sure that you love the game enough to make an investment in the tools to play it.  Once you have made your purchase go out and just have some fun.

Golf Clubs Across the Country Are Going Out of Business. How do You Save Yours?

Golf courses across the country are closing down and going out of business across the United States at a very disturbing rate. Florida, the state with more golf clubs than any other state, is seeing this more and moreas time goes on. A lot of these “failing” golf courses are blaming the economy, and some are blaming the current state of golf in general; but I see things differently, they should be blaming themselves.

The golf industry is behind the times in almost every aspect of running a business in this day and time. Most golf courses still have a boring website that looks like something that my 12 year old daughter could create in a few hours. These golf clubs need to embrace technology and develop a website that both promotes AND generates business. There are a handful of golf marketing businesses that specifically create websites to help generate more business for golf courses, why aren’t more clubs taking advantage of them?

Another way the golf industry is behind the times is just marketing in general. Looks at how much golf clubs are promoting themselves. Are they even trying to promote their golf club? The average golf club does the following things which they call "marketing".

  • They place a black and white ad in the county newspaper showing how they just discounted the price. This only gets them into discount wars with their competition which only causes them to lose even MORE money. They should instead find something that they do better than the rest of their competition, create a USP promoting that something, start promoting their course for that something, and possibly even RAISE prices because they do something the other courses don’t.
  • They place an ad in the yellow pages and local phone book that unfortunately looks like every other ad within the book. Honestly, with the invention of search engines such as Google and the amount of people who use the internet these days, how many people do you think still use the phone book to find information when they could just power up their computer, type in a search term, and have multiples answer to their query extremely quick? The answer is falling closer and closer to zero every year, phone book usage is dropping by a huge amount every year! These clubs that are spending thousands of dollars a year on this single ad could be directing that extra money towards something more beneficial such as a website or direct mail campaign like I mentioned above
  • They place an ad in the local penny saver.Once again, something that is proven to be ineffective in this day and time. Instead they should be looking into fusion marketing techniques and working with other businesses to promote their golf course. They could easily go to the local Chevy dealer and give away a free round of golf with every car purchase. Not only will the dealership easily accept this offer, but it will get new people, with MONEY, at the course and they will easily make up the lost green fee revenue by the new players paying for a cart fee or eating after the round at the club house. They will even convert some of these players into returning players. Think about that for a second, if they charge a round, and the new players plays 10 times a year, they just made an extra 0 off green fees alone. If you get 20 new players a year from the car dealership that’s an extra ,000 a year from a simple green fee promotion with a car dealership!

Another way golf clubs are slowly killing themselves is with real estate. A lot of golf communities that were doing great in the early 2000’s are now drowning in a sea of debt because of unsold lots, unsold homes, and not enough members. What can they do to help correct this problem? Let’s look at what Juliette Falls, which is a Golf Resort in Florida, in Dunnellon did. They first got a first-class website from a company named Legendary Marketing. They built their website into something that looks great and promotes exactly what they do. Well guess what, the economy dropped off and now they have over forty homes that are in the price range of 0,000 to more than a million and no one was buying them. How can they turn this around? They came up with a wonderful promotion that’s how! At Juliette Falls you can stay in a Florida Luxury Golf Homes worth over a million dollars, play a round of golf, enjoy the onsite spa and eat at a fancy restaurant for $199 a night. If they sell only one night for every day of the year, that is over ,000 in additional revenue for the resort AND they get new prospects and leads at the course every single day which they can use to promote to in the future! Why aren’t all the golf communities thinking this way?

As you can see, the golf industry is slowing killing itself by being behind the times in technology, marketing, real estate and a host of other things that will be addressed in a future article. If you’re a member of a golf course, or even better part of the members committee, stand up and bring attention to the actions your course is taking. Tell your club they need to break the mold of what they have been doing because it is not working. Make them think outside thier comfort zone! Make your resort management company become accountable for the actions the club takes! It just may be the only thing left that can save your golf club!

Six Keys to Selecting The Right Golf School

There are many criteria to selecting the school that is worthy of the investment, and this is not an exhaustive list.

1) Golfing style

As with any topic or subject matter to learn, golf can be played in many styles. Some play conservatively, others, like me, more aggressively. But ultimately you have to choose school or instructor that matches you.

Your skills, your personality, your style.

2) Problem areas

I have trouble with slicing. Consistently I find that my shot slice to the right. You, to be sure, have at least one issue with your game or specific shot. You might want to find a school to address, help correct that shortcoming. You would have had time (and money) well spent, If you come back from a long weekend and your slice has vanished.

3) Instructor to class-size ratio

This is a personal preference item. Several people learn in group setting (even craze the interaction). It may also depend on what you're trying to gain from the school which one you actually choose.

4) Price

If you improve your game, and thus your enjoyment,  golf is your life and no amount of money is too much. For others, there's big obstacle. If you're considering a golf school then you know that most start above 00. This is some “big name” instructors offering half day lesson for ,000.

If you are price sensitive then, by all means, do not forget to add in travel, lodging, and food costs. Many times this “incidentals” could double the overall cost.

5)  Proximity

What is your traveling distance? Is the schedule tight so slipping off within 100 miles for a half day lessons is all you can squeezes. When these offer last-minute specials you can jump on those quickly, One plus of keeping tabs on those schools “in your own backyard” is.

6) Length of training

It depends, like any good consultant would answer. It depends on whether you're looking for a long weekend, a one day seminar, or wrapping a vacation around your training. This is an important factor in choosing school so compare wisely.

Golf Beginners - What You Need In Your Golf Bag

Before we even consider what we should keep in our golf bags it is also important to be aware that there are a large number of golf bags themselves available. To a large degree your golf bag preference is dependent on your budget as well as what you want from your golf bag. There are some golf bags that are designed for fashion, some for their usefulness and practicality and some that combine both of those features.

As has been asked on many occasions in so many different situations - does size matter? To some it is a very important feature to consider. So, fortunately there are large bags, larger bags and bags so big that they'd keep everything I would need for a long weekend holiday in one of the side pockets! Everything including the kitchen sink springs to mind. Perhaps you are just commencing playing golf as a pastime. If that is the case then choosing a worthy golf bag is one of many significant issues you need to be aware of. Choosing the right golf bag, as well as having to contend with all the other golf matters you will need to learn, can be quite intimidating for the newbie golfer. Don't worry though, you can find many great tips and information at Golf Beginners Guide

Anyway, back to your golf bag. Disregarding any fashion issues for now, broadly speaking you need a bag just big enough to hold your clubs, additional balls, your glove, tees, car keys, additional pencils, ball markers, a ball retriever,
sunscreen, a windbreaker and a large umbrella.

It is also worth bearing in mind that it would be a good idea to have a packet of tissues, a sticky plaster or two, and if you play courses wherever insects are a problem, a can of bug repellent spray will also be most welcome. In any type of weather it is well worth considering taking a bottle of water with you (or any other drink of your choice - alcohol excluded of course!!)!!)

A small packet of baby wipes will come in very handy as well. When they are in your bag they will be warmed by the heat, therefore if you were to sweat or if you were to be covered in sand after a visit to a bunker for instance, then a nice warm wipe can be extremely satisfying. To cool from the heat, a golfing buddy I know carried a small, battery operated fan with him. Quite a good idea as it happens but remember, they can be fairly noisy and distracting so do not use it when your partner is about to take a shot. The fan is not a bad idea but not an essential for the golfing beginner.

A golfing friend of mine also happens to be allergic to bees, hornets and wasps, so Epipen is a vital addition to his bag. He is also hypoglycemic so he carries Lifesavers, which have to be replaced several times throughout the year because they tend to melt.

One modern day convenience that is not really a necessity on the golf course is a mobile phone. Whenever you feel it is necessary for you to have it with you, then you should switch the ringer to silent as a consideration to other players. If it so happens that you have to use it, then consider your fellow golfers who may be preparing to take a swing or an important put. Show consideration to your fellow golfers!!

Having these items in your golf bag should allow for everything you will need, even in a minor emergency (like a blister) or a major inconvenience, like a sudden rainstorm. Being organised and prepared makes the game a great deal more fun.

These suggestions are not exhaustive. You may have some items that are important for you (for instance you may need to take certain types of medication), so consider these ideas as a guide only. You shouldn't go over the top as, after all, you will still have to carry the bag so you do not want it to be too heavy. You do not want to expend all you energy on lugging your heavy bag round. Whatever you choose to keep in your bag always look after the items as well as you would look after your other golf equipment.

How the Economy Is Affecting Golf Resorts

The state of Florida is the home of golf resorts. When you want to go golfing in Florida on vacation, chances are that you are going to end up staying at one of the popular golf resorts in the area such as TPC Sawgrass, Champions Gate, Sandestin or PGA National Resort and Spa. All 4 of these places are amazing, and honestly, I really can not say anything bad about TPC Sawgrass.Who really say anything bad about them anyway?

The problem with these four resorts is that they are catering to the same individual all of the time, upper class people making 0,000 plus a year. They don’t allow the real people such as you and I the time of day to come and play at their course, or stay at their resort. Can I blame them… no I really can not? People are not concerned about the economy and this so called recession, so they are paying the money to stay and play there and they are taking advantage of it just like any good business would do.

Now things have changed in the golf resort world, especially in Florida. When the economy started to slow down, the amount of golf being played, and the amount of people staying at Florida golf resorts also started to slow down as well. The 4 popular golf resorts I mentioned above probably haven’t changed their ways yet, but I can guarantee you that they haven’t changes their ways and are probably losing large amounts of money because they haven’t adjusted to this new economy.

In reality, what did this economy do to the golf world? How has it changed the golf world? Will it ever get better? To tell you the truth, I do not have a truthful answer I can give you because a lot of golf courses and resorts are not being honest with themselves or other professionals in our industry. The economy HAS slowed down play in all areas across the country. The economy has made golfers start to play at cheaper courses, or look for special offers that are occurring at particular resorts. No longer can resorts rely on “regular” customers because a lot of those regulars have ditched their home course in search of the best deal.
What can they do about this growing problem? It is very simple; in fact it is really a no brainer. They need to come up with an astonishing promotion that drives traffic to their golf resort. Need an example? I thought you might want to see one.

Juliette Falls is a new golf resorts in Florida in Dunnellon. It is only about an hour away from both Tampa and Orlando and is roughly 15 minutes way from Ocala. It’s a very secluded town in Florida. Juliette Falls has a beautiful course and the nice golf homes are jaw dropping. So what does a Florida private community do when the economy slows and homes stop selling? They came up with a strategic plan that involved a promotion supplement their lost income. Juliette Falls made the decision to start selling special packages that allow you to stay in a stunning million dollar golf homes, play a round of golf on their amazing course full of waterfalls, and enjoy all of the resorts facilities for 9 a night. Who could refuse this offer, I know I couldn’t. What this does is create a new stream of money using assets that they already have. If they sell only two stays for every night of that year, that’s 5,000 a year in pure profits! It also could supply a steady stream of potential home buyers! Why aren’t the other golf resorts thinking this way?

Golf Resorts need to start trying to think outside of the box. In this economy it may be the only way to keep a positive flow of income!

5 Steps To Enjoy Golf More

We all love the game of golf, but some times it is just as they say, a good walk spoiled. Here are a few ways to enjoy golf more.

  • Do play except the blue tees.

Unless you are at least a 10 handicap or lower, why bother making the golf course even harder than it has to be. If you are shooting in the 90's or triple digits, it makes no sense making a conscious decision to making the course more difficult.Plays the white tees and takes the extra level of anxiety out of the equation.

  • Improve your lie

There is no way you should be playing the strict rules of golf, when you are having a recreational round of golf. The average round of golf would be at least six hours at courses all over the world.  Golfers would be returning to the tees all day after hitting there first ball out bounds, or searching for every lost ball for 5 minutes.

So if we are bending the rules to save time, why not bend them to improve your lie, something you can actually benefit from.Play winter rules all time.

  • Do play different game

Compete in other categories other than score, instead playing the same match with your buddies.  Some examples would be:

Most fairways hit

Least amount of 3 putts

Most 1 putts

  • If it is your honor, take it.

You just birdie the hardest (or easiest) hole on the golf course, it is your tee, you earned it, took it. You will be surprised how often you can have two birdies in a row if you are actually trying to get  two birdies in a row, challenge yourself to get another one.

  • Lower of expectation.

You don't practice as much as you should, if you are a average golfer you play golf twice per week if you're lucky, on top of that.. You can not honestly think that your game is not exactly what it would be.

Don't be so hard on yourself when you're not playing well, just enjoy the game itself. Even the pros have not good days.

A Book Guide To Help You Cure A Golf Slice

One of the dilemmas that any amateur golfer can have is the shot that’s called “the golf slice”. Because golf slice predicament is usually common, there are different books and other learning tools that have been created about the many different techniques on how one can correct this mistake. The golf slice is where the ball moves and bends in the air from left to right and making the golf ball travel like this is very difficult. To do this, a player needs to learn a combination of having an open clubface and an outside to inside swing path. The incorrect swing puts side spin on the ball, causing the ball to cut violently to the side. This leads to a loss of control of the shot, as well as oftentimes a temperamental fit of anger on the golf course. If they have a problem like this, they need to find the best golf slice fix, so to speak.

So, how can you fix this kind or predicament? It was mentioned earlier that the swing in producing the slice is the most important part. For most golfers especially those who are already considered as professionals, what they do is they compensate their swing by aiming their body well to the left of the intended target. They are doing this hoping that the ball will slice through the air and end up swinging towards that target. But this, according to a book guide that I’ve come across that teaches how to fix golf slice the right way, says that this may well end up causing yourself even more difficulty and embarrassment on the course.

I have actually got the chance to get hold of that book which is not mine because I don’t really play golf but it is own by my friend and he is the one who has problems with his golf plays especially his golf slice. He has been using this book guide for weeks now and he has learned how to cure a golf slice on his own.

There has never been a better time to get that online Golf idea up and running, and tell the world what you know.

The software requires NO HTML KNOWLEDGE to use. In fact, this is not even an HTML web editor, but an HTML generator. You don't even have to know there is HTML involved. Just put images, text and other object on your page and your website is ready! You CAN however add any existing HTML to your page using the advanced page and object HTML tools.

Other traditional programs use a document "word" method for layout, where you can not pick up objects and drag them where you want them to go on the web page. With the new 90 second website software, you can drag and drop the objects anywhere you want. Giving you full control over the layout. It even let's you put objects on top or below other objects!

Traditional website editors use Dynamic Page Layout , which means that the first object on the page will also determine the position of the second object. Resizing or moving the first object will affect the complete layout of the page. You can not overlap objects when using Dynamic Page Layout.

The software generates a Fixed Page Layout. The objects on page have a fixed position which is not affected by other objects. This also allows you to overlap objects and give you much more control over the layout of the page.

Do You Practice Golf The Wrong Way?

There is a right way and an incorrect way to practice golf. And some people think the correct way is to copy the swing of their favorite professionals. The reason those men and women are on the PGA and LPGA tours is because they are the greatest at what they do. Complicating things even further is the fact that you are being bombarded by hints and tricks on television and in your favorite magazine.

Now let's return to earth for a minute. Unless you were born with an fabulous amount of talent, chances are you won't be on the tour in the immediate future. Very few ever realize that level and chances are you won't either. Your goal should merely be to improve. We all want to play our best, but to attempt to copy the best players in the world is simply the wrong way to go about it.

If you are like the majority of people, you do your practice on Saturday and Sunday and after you get off work. Practicing and playing is their occupation. And much like you and your occupation, they wake up each morning and go to work, spending numerous hours on the range, the practice green and the course. You on the other hand do not have that luxury. It would be terrific if you did, but let's work within the realm of the time and energy you have accessible.

You no doubt marvel as you watch on TV when a shot lofts high, then softly lands on the green and stops just inches from the hole. And you likely get a little envious when a shot backspins its way to the cup. We all wish we could do this consistently, but if we want to improve it's counterproductive to spend months trying to accomplish this ourselves. What we should do is improve the basics first, and that's where our focus needs to be.

Consider for a second about how you spend your practice time. Chances are most of that time was spent on the driving range, driver in hand, attempting to hit it far and straight. A good driver is critical there's no doubt, but what percentage of your shots during a round are hit off the tee with a driver? See where we're going with this? You need to spend much more time practicing your short game.

You will see marvellous benefits by spending your time working on this, although admittedly, it's not the most thrilling way to practice. Ask any touring professional how much time they spend on this aspect of their game and they'll probably say about 80% of their practice time is dedicated to this. They'll work on different shots from different angles, different lies and in different conditions. And it's probably a solid idea to practice what the pros practice most, even if it's not a good idea to imitate their swing.

If you're like most golfers, your scores are probably in the 90's. And that's in spite of the fact that you may have the longest drive in your group. The trouble is clearly with your short game and this is where you should concentrate your practice efforts. Get better here, and see your scores go down dramatically.

It's time to make a change. Don't head straight to the driving range when you leave work. Instead work on any shot that's less than 75 yards. That means putting, pitching, chipping and short shots from the bunker.

If you don't believe this is a great idea than think about this. Shots from 75 yards or less make up more than 50% of your strokes in a typical round of golf. This includes putts, chips, etc. So doesn't it seem logical that you should spend at least half your practice time working on these shots? Now consider that probably less than 20% of your strokes are with a driver. If you are honest with yourself, you will realize that this is where you need to practice most.

We understand that it's not as much fun as banging away off the tee, but it will be a lot more fun when you begin to knock at least 10 strokes off your game.

The best way to practice at home is by obtaining a golf practice net. You can get more golf tips similar to this, as well as read golf course and equipment reviews and information by going to http://www.AllThingsGolfBlog.com.

Why People Play Golf in the Summer

The summer is just about to conclude. To be fair we have not genuinely had a cracking summer this year. All in all there has probably been around 14 days of sunshine. I think it was way back in July when I took a walk next to the see to unwind and relax.

While I was walking I must of passed at least five or six different golf courses, you know the ones that are called crazy golf and you basically hit the ball around objects. To my surprise all of these courses were literally full up to the rim. I have to say that there were just masses and masses of queues.

So why is it so popular? Why does everyone want to play a game of crazy golf when it is sunny? Well personally I think this is due down to a few reasons. The main thing comes down to exercise, when its a hot sticky day, people just become lazy. No one wants to be visiting the gym or playing a arduous sport. So what better then too go out and play a relaxing game of golf.

But this is not the only reason people do it, they also play golf so that they can stay out in the sun a lot longer and build up a tan for themselves. Another argue is merely to keep the kids engaged; we are all aware that when it gets hot and muggy kids begin to get naughty and begin to play up. But a simple game of golf will not only keep them occupied, but it will also make them run around and lose some energy, so they will be too tired to start playing up, which will make things a whole lot easier for you.

Are Used Golf Clubs Really a Good Buy?

When you find that a top quality Callaway driver costs ,500 or more new and you can find it used for less than 0 used, the thought of buying used golf clubs has to come to mind. That can be a great move, but make sure you consider a few of these simple guidelines before you decide you're about to get a great deal.

Before you plunk down your cash, make sure that what looks like a good deal really is one. To see of it is a bargain, compare the price with a new club of the same brand and model. A new Ping putter may run up to $100 or more. A used club that costs can be a good deal, if there is no damage and still of high quality.

For any club, look for obvious problems, like worn grips.

Cracks or splits in the rubber or leather are not just a sign of age. Grips can be replaced. But they also suggest less than stellar manufacturing or poor care. A club left out in the rain may have rust spots, but those could have been cleaned off before being offered for sale.

The effects of weather on a grip are not so easy to hide and few sellers will want to spend the money to replace one when they're getting rid of the club. On the other hand some might, knowing that a few dollars invested can fool you. Take Caution. Re-gripping may run anywhere from a few dollars up to or more. Even if you're willing to spend the extra money right away, you're buying a club that is not in great shape. Reconsider.

Examine the clubface of a used club you're considering buying.

Almost all used clubs will have some wear, but if the sweetspot is worn shiny,I suggest you might want to give it a pass. A clubface like that will cause your shots to be less accurate, which may be the reason the seller is offering them in the first place.

The grooves should have well defined edges. They are there for a purpose. If you spot some dents in the surface, perhaps it is wise to move onto the next one. Those will cause your flight angle to be off.

Check the shafts, too.

Graphite shafts are lighter weight than steel, but they are slightly less durable. They'll dent easier. Double check the shaft and make certain it is still perfectly round. Dents, grooves and other forms of club abuse will throw off your swing because they affect flexibility and torque. The effect is subtle, but real. Test the shaft by trying to gently twist the head and grip in opposite directions. This should be extremely difficult. Otherwise the shaft is weak.

Even steel shafts can suffer damage. Even if there are no sign of dents, a steel shaft can get bent. That can happen from a missed swing, or an angry golfer who decided to whack the club into the ground or a tree. Any deviation can suggest that a club has been bent. It takes special equipment to straighten the club back to its original shape. If they did try to straighten the club, it can still weaken it and affect the flexibility and the balance. Move on.

Even a better way of buying used clubs is buying certified pre-owned golf clubs from Callaway. Callaway certified clubs must pass a 10 point inspection. You can also try them for 90 days under real life conditions and if you are not satisfied, they will buy them back. Callaway certified pre-owned clubs also come with a 12 month warranty. Buying certified used clubs may be a great way to save money, or a way to trade up to some better clubs.

Purchasing used golf clubs can be a great bargain, especially for those just begining golfing. It can be a cost-effective way to find out if your dedication to the sport justifies spending hundreds or even thousands for high-quality new clubs. Once your golf game is up to snuff, you may want to go that route. Or, you might just find a great bargain on a used club after all.

Golf Membership Initiation Fees - Should They Be Refundable?

Private Clubs have historically usually structured their golf membership offerings to include a provision for the return or refund of all or some portion of the initiation fee/ new members pay to join a golf club.

This initial payment is subject to defined conditions and terms as set within the golf club’s membership plan and by-laws. A common scenario provides a refund to a resigning member based on some formula, such as for every 3 or 4 new members who join, one resigning member receives a refund. This formula continues until the club reaches its membership cap after which resigning members are repaid on a one to one basis. Additionally, sometimes the continuation of the payment of membership dues is required in order to receive a refund.

Can you answer this one simple question?

Every single week I speak to private clubs experiencing problems with membership. To gain an understanding of their situation I ask a series of questions that include the Initiation Fee required to join the club. The majority of time, there is a provision for the return of a fraction or in some cases all of the initiation fee that is required. I then question the business reason behind the membership initiation fee structure that is in place and I typically get a response like, “I really do not know” or “that is a good question”.

Your golf resort has the wrong kind of waiting list!

The return of an initiation fee can make a lot of sense if there is a sound business reason behind the plan and it works very well if the golf club is in a great market and is enrolling new members at a rapid pace. However, more often than not, membership enrollment rate will begin to slow down long before the golf club has reached a full complement of members and members who have decided to resign cannot be repaid at the time they wish to resign.

And membership resignations will always take place. Even in the finest of golf clubs, attrition rates are six percent or larger as members in many cases, even if they are totally content with their golf club, resign due to relocation, health issues, change of employment, and other interests. And, as noted earlier in this article, they may even be required to continue to pay for dues in order to receive their refund.

This leaves the golf club in the unpleasant position of having a waiting list to leave the golf club, which not only poses a huge significant financial hurdle, but also is a deterrent to having new members join.

How can I get my golf resort out of this mess situation?

Now, there are solutions to getting out of a situation like this including:

  • Establishing new categories of membership.
  • Providing the refunds to resigning members at a reduced rate. This would usually require member consent.
  • Establishing a means for members to rent their membership or designate a beneficial user of the membership.
  • Establishing a non-refundable golf membership.
  • Making changes to the by-laws.
  • Creating a re-callable golf club membership.

However, caution must be exercised. Trying any new approach without systematically taking into consideration the many factors involved including undoubtedly understanding your current market and where your golf club fits in it, your competitors, your approach to prospecting for new golf members and leads for outings and other events, your enrollment and attrition rates, what you are permitted to do legally, and the effects the changes may have on the golf courses’ financial stability, may actually turn a bad situation into a extremely bad one.

Get professional assistance now!

Does your golf club currently have a list of members waiting to leave the club? Are you just starting a new golf club and structuring your golf membership offer? Does you golf club management company have a golf membership sales program in place to preserve your current members as well as bring in new ones? Do not simply believe that the way golf membership plans have been set up for decades is the right approach for you. Do not fall into the trap of short term thinking or advice from well intentioned friends or board members who are not professionals with experience in the membership or golf club business. The decisions and plans you make today have a substantial impact on how successful or not your golf club will be in enrolling new members three or four years down the road from now.

Finding Your Next Place to Play - Golf Course Locator

How to swing a golf club like Tiger Woods

Picking a golf club might be overwhelming because there are so many things that you should take into account. The grip, the shaft lent, the head weight and many other small details merge to make clubs perfect for your own golf style. Among the most important factors is the flexibility of the club you're buying. Various golf clubs have various flex ratings and choosing the perfect one may considerably increase the quality of your personal game. At first it might be a little difficult to understand, but after you familiarize with some basics, you will certainly have no problem in picking a shaft with a perfect flex.

If you would like to keep from coming over the top, you need to learn how to keep your golf club from wandering outside the target line. You can do this by working on the opposite of coming over the top - this is the inside out golf swing. Some of the most dominant, accurate players are able to do this consistently. When you make impact with a downswing that comes from barely inside the target line, this will help you get rid of your awful slice and will most likely get you drawing the ball a little. If you would like to train yourself the inside out golf swing, give these two drills a try:

One must-have feature for golf course locators is real time weather information for the golf course of interest. Reviews of players and a rating system for golf courses is also another useful feature for those looking for a great course to play on.

2. Try to clip the top of the middle tee "only" be making some swings with a 7-iron. The golf club will have to go between the outside golf tees at a slight inside out pathway to keep from hitting them. If you are able to do this over and over again, you will know that your club is precisely traveling from the inside and not the outside. If you are hitting the outside tees, this means that you are coming over the top and need to practice on your swing.

This drill will help you perfect the inside out golf swing path.

Swing Inside Pathway Drill

1. Place a golf ball on the ground and lay your club down about 8 inches away from the ball and parallel to your target line. Then, lay another golf club outside the first one, with it pointing about 20 yards to the right of the proposed target (if you are a right hand golfer). The 2nd club should form an angle of approximately 10 degrees to the target line. You will want to make certain that both clubs are far enough away so that you don't hit them when you swing.

The benefits of technology touch all aspects of human endeavor. Like most sports, even golf and golfing equipment have been impacted by technology. Golf course locators have made it possible for all who are interested, to get a good working knowledge of courses worldwide enough to make an informed answer to the question of - "Where do we play our next round

Did you know that Carnival Cruise Lines offers one of the best golf vacation package for Golf Cruise Vacations?  I just returned from a trip to the Bahamas on the Carnival Sensation. My wife planned this trip and you can bet that Golf was the furthest thing from her mind when she scheduled our vacation. I love golf and she could have take a little time to look for a way for me to get in a coupld of rounds. Don't you think? Well, my wife didn't think that a family vacation should include me enjoying myself with Golf. Her definition of a family vacation is spending all your time with the family.I had no clue that there was a Golf Course right there on the ship just waiting for me to tee up. As we set out on our Bahamas Cruise Vacation, I knew very little about the ship we were traveling on and I will not make this mistake again!  Yes, the ship has a real Golf Course right on the top floor.

It was during our visit to Atlantis Resort Paradise Island when I found out my trip could have included some great Golfing Experience.I was having a great time with my family So, don't get me wrong, I would not trade this quality time for anything. But, I would have loved to get in just a couple rounds of Golf.At The Atlantis Resort on Paradise Island there were some great Golfing options and my wife form some odd reason left golfing out of her plans for out family vacation. What's wrong with a little time away from the family enjoying a round of Golf.I was talking to another dad on the beach and I found out that I was missing out on some great golf on the island. I also found out that I was missing out on some great golf on the ship.  The Carnival Sensation from port Canaveral has its own little Golf course on board and I had no clue.

I knew I would not be able to break away for golf there on the Island but I had in my mind that I would get my chance at Golf on the Sensation.  After returning to the ship, I met up with the Cruise director and she gave me all of the details of where this Golf Course was located and what I needed to do to get in the game.  At that time I had no clue how hard it would be to break away to enjoy one little round.  There were 2 days left on my trip and every time I had a chance I made my way toward to Lido Deck to try to get in a round or two.  Every time I made a break for it, I ran into my wife or one of my children and for the remainder of the trip I had no luck at breaking away for my round of Golf.

I am telling this story to help other husbands and dads in advance of their Cruise.  If you are going to travel, you want to do your homework.  Find out if the Cruise Line offers any Golf Vacation Packages.  Get this information before you leave and try to convience your wife to let you break away for a couple of rounds.

I sat down to write this as soon as I returned from the trip just to help others avoid the same experience that I had on my vacation. So now that you know that Carnival Cruise Lines offers one of the best golf vacation package for Golf Cruise Vacations you should be able to include Golf in your vacation.

Find Golf Slice Tips From This Book Guide

If you are a golf player, either you are just a newbie or have been playing this game for so long now, you need to understand every aspect in golf in order to perfect your game. For example, if you have problems with your golf slice and you need to cure it, you first need to understand why the slice is such a problem and why you need to learn how to correct golf slices. The golf slice is one of the things that a golfer would love to perfect.

Now, if you just can learn how to fix a slice, you will be able to gain a few more yards. But the only concern for other golf enthusiasts is that they just don’t have any good idea yet on how to fix that problem. Yes, you can fix your golf slice but how? For most people, it is easier to ask around or get help with somebody who knows how to golf slice the right way. But that's not the only option you should consider. If you want to ask me, I would exhaust all means just to perfect my game of golf. I would invest in a lot of things. Come on, as a golfer, you have invested a lot of money from the clothes that you wear when you play to the golf equipment that you use. So, why not invest in something like learning tools, huh?

To cure a slice you will need to find some golf slice tips and they can either be explained in books or DVDs. You could visit your local golf professional but the danger here is a placebo effect, which means, you could be back in your old way after departing with a pro and leave you without any real reference so that you can somehow “correct” yourself. If I were you, I will invest on book guides for fixing golf slice, fixing golf swing and other learning tips any golfer would like to know.

The Titleist Pro V1 is by far in all likelihood the better ball you can play with and it is in fact what a lot of the pro players play with. Keeping this in mind I feel that you have to be on top of your game to play with these kind of balls.

Callaway

I do think that the Callaway balls are the one to use for practice games, games that are not really too serious. The price of these balls are reasonable, but on some occasions depending on which model you would like you may have to go into a gold specialist store.

Nike

Nike is probably the biggest brand out of all three of them, Nike have millions of dollars and with that comes a huge selection of different golf balls. You can probably pick up the golf balls in any high street store, as we all know Nike knows how to distribute their products. The best balls in their range though have to be the Nike One Black and Platinum and on top of this they are all very reasonably priced.

If you are looking to better your game I would ideally look at getting the best quality ball to begin with as you do not want to end up picking up bad habits.

Smashing the Ball with Accuracy, Consistency, and Confidence

online golf lessons

"Driving the Golf Ball with Confidence, Accuracy, and Consistency”

The three most important elements to the game of golf is:

  1. Driving the golf ball in play.
  2. Putting the golf ball with consistent speed control (distance).
  3. Pitching the golf ball with loft.

Let's concentrate on what I consider the MOST important aspect to the game of golf, DRIVING THE GOLF BALL IN PLAY. This element of golf is the number one confidence booster in the sport. As you probably know and have experienced, your score adds up quickly if you hit your tee shots out of play.

Here is a bold proclomation for you -if you read this article/special report every time, just before you play a round, your friends will think they are playing with Joe Durant. Joe has led the PGA Tour in driving accuracies for the past two years. So far this year, he is averaging 79% of the fairways every time he plays 18 holes of golf.

If you are going to change the way you drive the golf ball you will need to implement the following four fundamentals:

  1. THE PICTURE
  2. PROPER DRIVER
  3. CORRECT TEE HEIGHT
  4. CORRECT SWING PLANE

1. THE PICTURE

If you can see it, you can have it. Before you take your driver, or any club for that matter, out of your golf bag, you better start seeing what you want the golf ball to look like during its journey down the fairway. Of the millions of words my mother (the first woman to teach at a golf school in the United States) taught me, the one phrase that has stayed with me all of these years is THE PICTURE. You must have a picture in your mind of how you want the ball to fly through the air and where you want it to wind up. When you have a driver in your hands, you have to pick out an exact area you want the ball to land on. IF YOU DON’T SEE THE PICTURE, YOU ARE IN BIG TROUBLE.

Important Tip: During the course of a round of golf, you can find yourself driving the ball well, but all of the sudden you are faced with a difficult driving hole. Shortly after I turned pro, I played a practice round with Tommy Bolt the 1958 U.S. Open Champion. We came to great par four, 435 yards long, water down the right side of the fairway from the tee to the green, out of bounds markers down the entire left side of the fairway from the tee to the green. After I teed my golf ball up I turned to Tommy and said, “What do you do here with O.B. left and water right?” Tommy looked me straight in the eye and said “Son, if you see the water and the O.B. markers, you better go find another line of work.”

That stuck with me to this day, and I wanted to pass it on to you. Don’t worry about the challenges, just think about what you want the ball to do. I have benefited immensely during my career, and I want you to benefit from this as well.

2. PROPER DRIVER

Now that you can see the picture, let’s see if you brought the correct brush to paint with. If you are still trying to buy 20 more yards every time you walk into a pro shop. It is time to stop-NOW! If you own a driver that is metal, has a graphite shaft, and the grip is new then you own what it takes to send the golf ball straight down the fairway.

Let’s back up a foot or two. The loft on the golf club will play a major role in how accurate you are. If you are struggling with your driver you might consider buying a driver with at least 10-12 degrees of loft. The less loft a driver has the more you are apt to slice and hook the ball. If you are driving the ball well you can buy a driver with less loft.

An important side note: If you are driving the golf ball short, low and to the right the shaft might be too stiff. If you are driving the golf ball too high and to the left the shaft might be too weak.

Another item to consider if you have small hands, have the club repair shop regrip all of your grips with either a junior grip or a small grip. If your hands are large, have the shop regrip you clubs with oversize grips.

Bottom Line – worry about getting the ball in the fairway first, then you focus on distance generation. Chances are, you own the equipment right now, that will give you the fairway shots you’re striving for. Remember – It’s the swing, not the equipment. The equipment helps once you have a good swing, but you’ll never FIX your swing with an equipment upgrade.

3.CORRECT TEE HEIGHT

The tee height does not seem like such a big deal, but it plays a huge roll in whether or not you drive the golf ball consistently down the fairway. Something so simple can often be the biggest challenge.

The two major mistakes are teeing the golf ball too low or teeing the golf ball too high. You may have heard that golf is a game of opposites. This is a really good example. Let me explain why. If you are constantly swinging your driver too vertical into the ground in the downswing, you probably tee the golf ball to low. Most golfers with a vertical driver swing fear swinging underneath the golf ball so they tee the ball low in hopes of catching it square. For those of you with this challenge, the next time you are on the golf course, tee the golf ball up a little higher and sit back a little bit more on your heels and keep your weight there in the downswing. After your shot has landed, look down to see if your tee is still in the ground. If you are always conscience of leaving the tee in the ground, you will not pop your tee shots up anymore.

If you are topping your tee shots to the right you might have the ball teed too high because you are trying to hit the ball on the upswing. The next time you go out to play, tee the ball down a little. After the golf ball has landed, make sure your weight is on your left foot and meaning you have transferred your weight correctly.

4. CORRECT SWING PLANE

With this final tip I feel confident you will be on your way to driving the golf ball straighter and with more consistency. The golf club in your bag that swings the most vertical, (up and down) is your sand wedge. The golf club that swings the most horizontal (around you-baseball swing) is your driver. The mistake I have seen most amateur golfers make is that they swing their driver like their sand wedge and they swing their sand wedge like their driver.

A couple of things to remember when you are addressing the driver:

  1. Chin up
  2. Turn your right shoulder in the back swing level
  3. Swing the golf club around you/not up and down
  4. Leave the tee in the ground after you hit the ball

When you are ready to begin your backswing, keep your swing thoughts to a minimum. Force yourself to think about swinging more horizontal.

At the beginning of this special report I told you that you would drive the ball more with more confidence, accuracy, and more consistent if you read this article every time before you tee it up this summer. This stuff seems simple, but give it a whirl and let us knwo your results. You’ll get some great results.

How a Business Plan in 2010 can Turn Your Club Around.

As we enter the final months of 2009, your golf club should be well on its way if not finished with its Business Plan for 2010. Yet, I find that in many cases golf clubs have not yet even started the process. When I ask why the plan hasn’t begun, I hear a litany of amusing responses, well actually unfounded excuses. A sampling of the feedback includes:

  • We can’t start a new budget when we don’t have final numbers for 2009.
  • We haven’t decided what we are going to do with our operation in the off season.
  • We’re too busy to worry about planning.
  • We’re scared of what it might look like.
  • We've tried that before and it did not help us at all.
  • It takes too much time and we don’t ever use the plan for anything.
  • Our golf management company needs to be involved.
  • Our golf marketing companies’ pricing isn't set in stone.

Any of this strike a chord? Be completely honest now!

The reality is that many golf clubs either don’t have the discipline, commitment, desire, or skills to put together a plan. Planning is a lot of work! Very hard work! But like any other hard work well done, it provides benefits.

A forward thinking approach with a financial plan in place for the entire year and then updated on a quarterly basis with a forecast with a focus on creating the future is a paradigm that any successful business utilizes. Yet, I find that in most cases Clubs do little more than take a perfunctory look at the numbers from the prior month usually about 15 to 20 days if not more after the month has ended.

I have seen amazing transformations in the actions golf clubs take when the financial realities of their business are made known to them in black and white terms with a well thought out financial plan and a forecast of the future business. I have implemented forecasting where it previously was not utilized and immediately new plans were developed for better expense controls and the online marketing ideas became number one priorities instead of just “when I get to it” afterthoughts.

A focus on creating the future through a thorough, well crafted business plan is what separates great operators from marginal and poor operators. It the difference between swimming strong toward a destination and just drifting with the current. This reminds me of a passage from the book Alice in Wonderland. When Alice finds a Cat during her travels, she asks the cat for advice on the road she should take. The Cat responds by asking Alice where she would like to go. Alice responds that she really doesn't know. The Cat responds by telling Alice that if she doesn’t know where she wants to go, then the road she takes really doesn’t matter. Do you know where you want your golf club to go in 2010?

You must have goals set. Creating a financial plan is more then just number crunching. There is a lot of work that must be done in order to get the proper foundation to plan. A solid financial plan is the final results of a thorough Business Planning process which includes:

Components of a thorough Business Plan include:

1. SFSWOT Analysis

This is analysis of each Club department’s and the Club’s overall

  • Successes
  • Failures
  • Strengths
  • Weaknesses
  • Threats
  • Opportunities

It provides a critical self assessment of your Club and provides a great foundation for goal setting for both qualitative and quantitative improvements in the upcoming year.

2. Competitive Analysis

Who is your competition? What are the fees at your competitions club? What is your unique selling advantage?

3. Membership Planning

What are your Club trends for both membership enrollment and attrition by category? What real growth do you want to plan for in 2010? What has been the trend with downgrades and upgrades? What are you doing with Initiation Fees? Do you have enough financing in place? How will you handle your wait list of people wanting to join the golf club? To resign?

4. Pricing Plan

What price increase will you take this year and when? Will dues increases occur? how will members react to an increased fee? How will you price your golf cart and guest fees? What about F and B. Remember, except for a very few elite Clubs in the Country, cost does matter.

5. Payroll Planning

What payroll increases are you authorizing for the Club’s employees in 2010? Are the pay increases performance based or just “no thought” across the board increases? Can the golf club afford to give increases? Do you have incentive based compensation plans in place or do you just pay for showing up regardless of the performance?

6. Expense Planning

What expense increases are you anticipating? Have you reviewed each department on a line item basis to determine if the expenses may have significant fluctuations either up or down? Items that can significantly change month to month include property taxes, utilities, fertilizer, chemicals, general liability insurance, and fuel. Did you make sure you reviewed these items thoroughly to ensure you have an accurate view of the expense side of the financial plan?

7. Marketing Plan

Do have a written quarterly game plan for driving the revenue sources that are important to your Club? Are there specific timelines and people assigned to carry out the plans? Have you budgeted the needed marketing dollars to ensure you will be able to achieve the results you need? Check out our industry best website solution for Private Clubs at Private Club Commander

8. Retention Planning

Do you have a comprehensive calendar of events that appeal to all segments of your membership to keep them using the Club and providing needed revenues. Is your calendar planned ahead at least 3 months at all times? Or are you trying to come up with things at the last minute because the newsletter copy is due?

9. Qualitative Improvement Planning

Do you have a written quarterly plan in ever department for qualitative improvement? Specifically, are you challenging all of your Club departments to implement 2 or 3 initiatives that either create a better member experience, provide for improved employee efficiency, introduce a new product or service, or produce a better financial result?

10. Capital Planning

Do you have a written capital replacement plan in place for 2010? Replacing depreciated assets on an annual basis is another component of a successful business. Do you have the necessary money to replace what is needed in 2010? Are you going to lease or finance needed equipment? Have you made sure you have done the analysis? Is your plan at least looking ahead 5 years?

Golf GPS Systems Review

Golf is the sport of kings, or so they say. At a minimum, you need a fair bit of money to get the equipment and pay the membership for golf courses. The essential concept of the game is simple. Hit a ball using a stick so it goes in the hole. Few things are ever all that simple, though. Golf is usually played on outside courses, with targets hundreds of meters away from the tee, and infested with hazards to make play challenging. Obviously, beginners need as much help as is available to play their best the game, so a great device to consider the Golf Buddy Pro GPS.

Golf GPS systems are the most up to date advantages to allow you to get your game on. These handy devices hold a cornucopia of information ideal for the weekend duffer, the professional player, and everybody in between. Companies have manufactured a number of GPS-based devices, like watches and plain positioning modules, but these are made only for golfers playing on a course. They aren’t a lot of use on a driving range: a golfer doesn’t need GPS when striking balls from a single location.

Golf GPS systems, such as the Golf Buddy Pro GPS are built to do their jobs out in the open, so consequently they come with autonomous power sources. You normally plan to enjoy several hours on the golf course, what with all the socializing, so you will require a gadget which offers respectable battery life. A microcomputer is only worth anything when it’s on, after all. These devices are normally the right size to fit in a large pocket, or to be clipped to the waist.

Digital graphics are an integral part of golf GPS systems. The display image changes from model to model and engineer, but they are similar because they provide information useful to a golfer. As a result, they are appropriately large, easily read, bright and anti-reflective, so that you can read them even out in the open under the bright sun.

The satellite information downloaded into golf GPS systems is the technology which makes these devices possible. The most rudimentary downloadable data consists of coordinates which mark the holes on golf courses. More sophisticated data packages will give you aerial and satellite pictures which enable you to be aware of hazards around doglegs, so you may anticipate course conditions and choose the appropriate club. Golf GPS makers market particular data packages, so any consumer about to purchase a device like this ought to look into the type of information they want. Keep in mind that certain models also need subscriptions to download that information, while others will not.

Loaded with course coordinates and GPS abilities accurate to centimeters, Golf GPS systems are designed to figure distances to and from hazards and holes. This information can help you plan your route, choose the appropriate club, and come  in under par for a satisfying time on the green. Various applications of GPS technology are able to give you your shot distances, weather reports, and more. Make it a point to look at the complete range of applications of any model prior to paying for it, since these devices are not created equal.

When it comes down to it, talent will always be the most important part of playing a good golf score, but golf GPS systems such as the Golf Buddy Pro GPS are no less useful!
